BEAT LAST NIGHT HANGOVER

Beat last night’s hangover
you wake up today with the mother-of- all hangovers, instead of regretting downing all those shots, here's how you can get over it...
- ALCOHOL dehydrates. Hence, you need to hydrate your body — drink as much water as you can. It will cleanse your system because water removes toxins and rehydrates you. Don't have any drink which contains caffeine or other diuretics.

- While getting out of bed may seem like an ordeal, do yourself a favour by taking a shower. This increases circulation, which will push the alcohol out of your bloodstream quicker.

- If you wake up feeling sick, here's what you should do — take an anti-vomiting pill, an antacid and go back to bed.

- Add a few drops of lemon to room temperature water. The vitamin C present in lemons will help soothe your tummy.

- Have a slice of plain toast or some other type of bland food. These increase blood sugar levels and ease an upset stomach. Even a spoonful of sugar will help. Alcohol depletes the level of blood sugar.

- Get some more sleep. Your body needs to recover from the alcohol onslaught you have subjected yourself to.

- Drink some ginger ale. A glass of flat ginger ale will soothe your stomach.

- Honey can neutralise the harmful effects of alcohol because it has fructose, which competes with the metabolism of alcohol.

- Chew a couple of small pieces of ginger or drink a cup of ginger tea for quick relief.
